Remembering Baby Josh O’Connell
In June 2010, baby Josh O’Connell passed away in Temple Street after being diagnosed with a severe Mitochondrial Disorder – Leigh’s Disease.
The following year, Josh’s parents, Julie & Mark, began a year-long awareness campaign and fundraising effort for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. These efforts culminated in Mark, along with close friends Trevor, Eric and Ronan, forming the “Trek4TempleStreet” crew to climb Africa’s Mt. Kilimanjaro in September 2012.
Proudly supported by their families, friends and community, Julie, Mark & the Team raised a phenomenal €50,000 for the Metabolic Unit.
We acknowledge each and every individual who supported the family and the team in their journey which tested the mind, body and soul.
NCIMD would like to extend special thanks to the O’Connell family who supported our new Metabolic Website dedicated in loving memory of baby Josh at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital – on behalf of all the patients, staff and parents we thank you.
